Thursday, February 19th, 2009Bingbing Li visits Los Angeles to promote new autobiography
Thursday, January 8th, 2009Perhaps one of the greatest honors of running this site, BingbingLi.com, has to be the simple fact that Miss Li Bingbing has been such an admirable human being. While many celebrities throughout the world have made it a point to focus on their own lives in a vain attempt as self-promotion, Miss Li has selflessly devoted herself to charitable causes such as UNICEF, the earthquake relief efforts for the ravaged areas of China hit last year, and in general, to helping others less fortunate than herself. A serving heart she has made it a point to always look for ways to inspire hope in the youth of China (and by extension in people everywhere) and help others to dream big, to hold onto their dreams, and to keep striving with the faith to persevere.
At this time when people throughout the world are looking for reasons to stay positive amidst the economic downturn in the global economy, it is important to remember that sometimes the strongest force we have are our beliefs. They can lift us, sustain us, help us endure that which we believe can not endure, give us hope and an inner strength to continue despite the greatest of odds.
Our dreams can do that. Our convictions can make this happen. And our love and passion can enoble us, strengthen us and help us move forward. But on top of that comes the need to believe in ourselves and to realize that all dreams are attainable.
This last part is something that is accomplished through the selfless autobiography that Li Bingbing has provided explaining her humble origins, her growth from a young girl in China, the heartbreaks, setbacks, lessons and continuing struggles that took her from a state of awkward youth to one of the leading stars in Asia. Best of success, Miss Li!

Bingbing Li visits South Korea as cultural ambassador to solicit disaster relief funds
Friday, November 28th, 2008Miss Li Bingbing continues to press forward in her efforts aid children whom have been affected by the disaster of the Chinese earthquake. Miss Li arrived in South Korea on November 27th, 2008, according to Sina.com.cn, as a cultural ambassador to solicit funds for this relief effort. Our translation below.
Our Translation (please pardon any inaccuracies):
On November 27th, China and South Korea conducted the “Dream2Kids” charity event in Seoul, Korea. Li Bingbing was present as China’s cultural exchange ambassador speaking on behalf of the Chinese entertainers who participated in this activity, collecting the donations for the children in the Wenchuan disaster area. On hand were 30 of South Korean’s own well-known entertainers who expressed compassion for the disaster victims. Is understood that the funds will be going to help children in need who reside in the disaster area but also serves as a “new years gift” to those children.
The South Korean government officials arrived on the scene to express their support in this endeavor. Li Bingbing’s appearance as cultural ambassador was met with great attendance and she expressed her deepest thanks. Recently Miss Li has been participating in a series of charitable activities, one after the other, especially focused on showing the loving concern for the children’s health and welfare. This event she also donated a band new handbag valued at 10,000 Yuan to start the auction. New Years is drawing near and Miss Li Bingbing hopes through her own efforts to find practical solutions for the needs for these children. For instance, computers, toys, books, and so on. More important than the size of the donation is the amount of attention that can be generated around the plight of these children who desperately need support. At the time of writing this article the auction had reached 2,000,000 Renminbi ($292,946 U.S. dollars).

Bingbing Li attending World Luxury event in Beijing
Thursday, November 27th, 2008This is a little late news but according to Sina.con.com’s article, on November 17th, Miss Bingbing Li attended a fashion event in Beijing. On hand were other celebrities such as Maggie Cheung and Zhao Wei. To paraphrase the article: even though the global economy is not doing very well right now this economic crisis has did not hampered China’s large scale demand for luxury goods. 798 Chinese factories participated in the celebration. On hand were other celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Eva Green, Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh, LI Bing-bing, and Zhao Wei. These celebrities were on hand to provide their comments about the different designs throughout the night. While much of the humor reflected American and European sensibilities their efforts were appropriate for the occasion. Li Bingbing, Maggie Cheung, and Zhao Wei also used this time to talk about how the newer generations of Chinese actors and actresses should prepare so that the industry can continue to grow.

Li Bingbing wax figurine revealed by Madame Tussauds in Shanghai
Friday, October 31st, 2008According to sina.com.cn, there was a reveal of a new wax figurine by Madame Tussauds Wax Museum which has opened a branch in Shanghai. The interesting thing is the figurine is of none other than Li Bingbing. The problem is: from the looks of the picture it really does not seem to accurately portray Li Bingbing’s asian beauty, but looks more anglo in features. Hopefully Madame Tussauds will redo the face a bit. Do you agree? Look at the picture on the right and let us know if you think the figure looks a bit too non-asian.
This first one looks sort of asian. But not at all like Li Bingbing. However look at the second picture if you are not convinced.
