On November 27th, China and South Korea conducted the “Dream2Kids” charity event in Seoul, Korea. Li Bingbing was present as China’s cultural exchange ambassador speaking on behalf of the Chinese entertainers who participated in this activity, collecting the donations for the children in the Wenchuan disaster area. On hand were 30 of South Korean’s own well-known entertainers who expressed compassion for the disaster victims. Is understood that the funds will be going to help children in need who reside in the disaster area but also serves as a “new years gift” to those children.
The South Korean government officials arrived on the scene to express their support in this endeavor. Li Bingbing’s appearance as cultural ambassador was met with great attendance and she expressed her deepest thanks. Recently Miss Li has been participating in a series of charitable activities, one after the other, especially focused on showing the loving concern for the children’s health and welfare. This event she also donated a band new handbag valued at 10,000 Yuan to start the auction. New Years is drawing near and Miss Li Bingbing hopes through her own efforts to find practical solutions for the needs for these children. For instance, computers, toys, books, and so on. More important than the size of the donation is the amount of attention that can be generated around the plight of these children who desperately need support. At the time of writing this article the auction had reached 2,000,000 Renminbi ($292,946 U.S. dollars).
